Private rail provider, Brightline, is currently over halfway done with the construction of its new high-speed railway extension from West Palm Beach to the Orlando International Airport. With an expected completion date of late 2022, the rail line will connect South and Central Florida over a 235-mile span!
Over 10,000 jobs and over $6.4 billion in economic impact are expected to be created by the ambitious rail network. The train is intended to serve as an alternative to driving. This service would not only give access to many of the state's employment centers for residents, but would end up being far more sustainable into the future.
What does this mean for Central Florida Builders?
Well according to Brightline's website, the rail network is aiming to be more than just a train service, but "part of a real estate vision to reenergize static neighborhoods with transportation hubs including modern stations, 40,000 sq ft food hall and 27+ acres of office, retail, residential and commercial space."
Not to mention that the railway itself will be connecting three of the nation's 15 largest single-family home markets.
Orange County mayor, Jerry Demings, stated “The construction of the Orlando extension has employed thousands throughout the region and will continue to bring much-needed jobs to our community."
What do more jobs and reliable transportation mean?
MORE RESIDENTS! And more residents means there will be even more demand for new homes throughout the Central Florida area. That's where our Central Florida Builders come in! This railway expansion is lining up to be far more than just accessible travel for Florida commuters. So make sure you keep an ear to the ground, cause change is coming to the Sunshine State!
